Bank of Baroda Cuts Interest Rates on Special 444-Day FD, Check Interest on Special FD

After announcing a brand-new scheme of 444-day FDs into which the proceeds from Big Bank’s Better-Performing Deposits could be placed, Bank of Baroda, one of India’s top public-sector banks, has revised the interest rates on its exclusive 444-day FD Drive Scheme.

The FD was launched on April 7, 2025, with somewhat rallying interest rates, but now the bank has made a slight cut, affecting both normal and senior citizens.

Key Changes in BOB’s 444-Day FD Rates

Earlier, deposits were accepting:

  • 7.15% p.a. general public (now reduced to 7.10%)
  • 7.65% p.a. for senior citizens (now reduced to 7.60%)
  • 7.75% p.a. for super senior citizens (now reduced to 7.70%)

Current BOB FD Interest Rates (May 2025)

Here’s a quick look at the latest fixed deposit interest rates offered by Bank of Baroda:

  • 7 days to 14 days – 4.00% (General) | 4.50% (Senior Citizens)
  • 15 days to 45 days – 4.00% | 4.50%
  • 46 days to 90 days – 5.50% | 6.00%
  • 91 days to 180 days – 5.60% | 6.10%
  • 181 days to 210 days – 5.75% | 6.25%
  • 211 days to 270 days – 6.25% | 6.75%
  • 271 days to less than 1 year – 6.50% | 7.00%
  • 1 year – 6.80% | 7.30%
  • Above 1 year to 400 days – 6.80% | 7.40%
  • Above 400 days to 2 years – 6.80% | 7.40%
  • Above 2 years to 3 years – 7.00% | 7.50%
  • Above 3 years to 5 years – 6.80% | 7.30%
  • Above 5 years to 10 years – 6.50% | 7.50%
  • Above 10 years (Court Order Scheme) – 6.25% | 6.75%
  • 444 days (Square Drive Deposit Scheme) – 7.10% | 7.60%

A small 0.05% cut in interest does look very small when you talk about short periods; however, for a long-term investor, such marginal slashes can reduce accrual to some key level. The 444-day FD was crafted to act as a powerful alternative option to SBI’s Amrit Vrishti Scheme, which offers a 444 Day tenure as well. The revised rates became applicable on May 5, 2025.

Should You Still Invest in BOB’s 444-Day FD?

Barely scraping through a small rate cut, the BOB Square Drive Deposit Scheme is still an investment lane for the risk-tolerant perception of-office, stable returns on a short to medium-term horizon. 444-day tenure suits those who want more interest than the 1-year FD but don’t want to have their funds tied up for 3 to 5 years.

Senior citizens are especially at benefit, receiving another half percent interest on top, making it an extremely safe and rewarding option for their retirement corpus.
